Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.
Ephesians 1:4, NLT
Reflection
Here’s the truth. Before you ever took your first breath, Christ had already set His love on you. Too many of us spend our lives trying to earn acceptance — from family, from peers, from society. But Christ’s acceptance isn’t something we work for; it’s something He freely gives. You see being chosen means we are not an afterthought. We are not a backup plan. Instead, we are intentionally loved by a God who sees our value even when we struggle to see it ourselves.
When Christ looks at you, He doesn’t see your failures first. He sees His purpose in you. He sees the potential He placed within you. He sees the story He is still writing. And because He chose you, nothing in your past disqualifies you from His future plans unless you let it.
Prayer
God I come before you today thanking you for choosing me before I ever chose you. Help me to rest in that truth and let it reshape my thoughts and actions so that I see myself as you see me – your chosen, beloved child who has a clear purpose in this life. In Christ Jesus name do I pray, Amen.
Application Question
Where do you need to replace the voice of human rejection with the truth of God’s acceptance?
